Kalaeloa Partners Responds to Community Needs during COVID-19 Crisis

In response to the rise in basic needs in our community, Kalaeloa Partners has committed to providing a $150,000 donation to the Hawaii Foodbank this year.

Ron Mizutani, the president and CEO of the Hawaii Foodbank, in response to Kalaeloa’s commitment, said, “Mahalo nui loa for your incredibly generous donation. We are grateful for the support of Kalaeloa Partners and for trusting our mission. The current health crisis continues to test the resiliency of our Hawaii ‘ohana. Every day is a crisis for 1 in 8 families in Hawaii who are food insecure. COVID-19 confirms ‘the face of hunger is always evolving.’ Since Hawaii’s statewide stay-at-home order went into effect, demand for food assistance has increased by more than 60 percent.”

At this time of crisis, with many in our community experiencing food insecurity, the Foodbank plays a crucial role, and Kalaeloa Partners is happy we can lend a hand.”
